I kept seeing this image claiming that wasps are just dicks… I figured I’d fix it. Wasps do pollinate plants. Of course, wasps have other attributes, just like bee’s do, who as a side note, make honey for themselves not for humans. But I was just reusing existing text aside from the label at the top.

Ok I have nothing against vegans but I am a bit tired of the whole “eco warrior anyone that isn’t a vegan is cruel and killing the planet rah rah rah” thing they’ve got going on..
Evolutionarily speaking, a vegan diet does not make sense. In the EEA, vegans would have died quicker than you can say “tofu” - they simply would have starved to death. If by some miracle they did survive, they would not have been able to provide their brains with the nutrients that meat-eating Neanderthals ate. As a result, their brains would not have grown to be so complex and “human” - they would be more akin to monkeys, if they were lucky.
I completely respect the decision to become vegan and I respect the effort of the lifestyle change and I respect wanting to feel like you’re helping somehow. What I do not respect and I do not tolerate is vegans (I understand the majority probably aren’t like this) accusing meat-eaters of destroying the planet.
What I fail to understand here, is how cavemen not being able to eat a plant based diet (I don’t know if this is true or not, either way it’s irrelevant) has anything to do with you not wanting to be a vegan, or with destroying the planet?
OP, you are very poorly informed about human evolution. We are not Neanderthals. Those died out/possibly interbred with some humans. We are a different branch of hominid evolution. That’s why we have a separate species name.
All of our ancestors (and our closest extant relative) were primarily frugivores. What little meat they ate was likely bugs and some small amount of fish and other “seafood.” We evolved the ability to digest flesh out of necessity… but considering the evolutionary timeline before that adaptation, it’s safe to assume we’re only capable and not designed for it.
Also, meat does not fuel the brain. The brain runs exclusively on glucose, which is found primarily in plant-based foods such as fruit, veggies, some grains, etc.
Eating meat likely helped the evolution of human brains, but we no longer need it. Necessity dictated that we eat flesh to survive… and that necessity no longer exists.
Also, meat-eating is destroying the planet. There’s no way around that. The massive amount of animal products we as a species consume means we must have billions of cows being farmed at a given time. Those cows release methane and nitrous. They need grazing room. They consume vast amounts of water.
There simply are not enough resources to support carnist lifestyles… so you getting mad at vegans for pointing out the demonstrable and obvious damage your actions have on the world around you is petty and kind of ridiculous.
Even if there were a sustainable way to kill billions of sentient beings for consumption, that does not give you the right to do so. You do not have a right to kill these creatures. You do not have a right to their flesh, their secretions, or their life. Period.
Well tonight is the night I start my new vegan blog. I’ve made this because I don’t have any support in my veganism except for my aunt who tries to be nice about it and made me a vegan cheesecake.
I don’t know anyone who is vegan and only know two vegetarians so I feel extremely lost sometimes when trying to find out what is and isn’t vegan and how to live a completely vegan life.
Hopefully this blog can help me to find a vegan community!
